OnePlus Nord 2 is now receiving the stable update to Android 12
We are accustomed to seeing a newer smartphone receiving a large Android update before its predecessor, but OnePlus left in a completely different way from the Nord line. The original Nord got his Android 12 update about a few weeks ago, while his successor, Nord 2, just started to accept it now, after going through several open beta.
The first was issued about a month ago, so it is not surprising that a stable release takes a few weeks after that. By the way, now launched as a 4,89GB download, more than half a year after Google initially released it, but it’s better to be late than not at all, right?
The launch begins in India and is staged as usual, and that means only a small portion of the device will get a notification of updates for the next few days. At a certain point after that, if there is no bug show-stopping found, it will start a broader distribution. The new manufacturing number for the Nord 2 India unit is DN2101_11.C.04 and you also get a security patch in May 2022.
If you feel enough to wait, and know what is implied by the OTA package, you can go to the source linked below to download the complete ZIP OTA. If not, the best is waiting for a notification. Interestingly, and maybe also worrying, this building seems exactly the same as the second open beta. Is that a mistake or not still have to be seen, because OnePlus is still not officially posted about a stable update in its forum – News about this release comes from the owner of Nord 2 who has received it.
